😁😁Day one Nov 4th😁😁

           For genius hour I want to learn how to play the ukulele. I want to learn to play the ukulele because ever since we started ukulele in grade five I was not always the best at it but still found it very fun. I even made my parents buy me one. Another reason why I wan to learn to play the ukulele is because music smart is not one of my strongest smarts so I would like to more about it.

To learn more about how to play the ukulele I used this picture to help me play "RUDE" by magic.

               Today I will be learning how to play "Counting Stars" by One Republic. I chose this song because I did not really like how "rude" sounded so I decided that "Counting Stars" Is a better choice. I used a youtube video the find how to play this and it does not seem to hard so I am going to try it and add a video clip of one of my first times trying to play it!!!



Nov 25th
So Today instead of learning to play "Counting Stars" and posting a video of that in music class we learned how to play ukulele tabs which I find very fun to do I am going to learn to play the second and third line of the song not just at home but in music class to and post a video of my progress of " We Wish You  A Merry Christmas"! I have been having a few struggles with switching form string to string but I am really looking forward to this!!!  I put a picture up above it is not the exact same one as I am learning but it is very close.

              It as been about a week since my the last time I added on to genius hour and I am continuing to practice which is getting easier but the challenge I am facing right now is making sure it is tuned right. It is not as easy as it looks if you do not have the proper tuner (it broke) but I am still trying my best to tune it with an app which is also harder

          It has been a while since my last update, but I have still been on two different songs. The songs I have been working on are "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and "Star Wars Theme". These songs have been pretty easy to learn but took me a while to get the hang of.

        This is going to be one of my last posts on genius hour and I am really happy that I have gotten to learn more songs on the ukulele. I am also happy that I have improved my skills during the process, for example tuning, playing chords, playing tabs, and learning more songs doing ukulele tabs are all things that I have learned during these few months. I could have never done all this without practice and I am glad that I chose this for my topic!
